FREEMAN A. MBOWE & 4 OTHERS v. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA

This is an Application by Mssrs. Freeman A. Mbowe, Zitto Z. Kabwe, Hashimu Rungwe, Seif Sharif Hamad and Salum Mwalim (‘the Applicants’) for interim orders against the Attorney General of the United Republic of Tanzania (‘the Respondent’) pursuant to Articles 6(d), 7(2) and 39 of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community (‘the Treaty’), and Rules 21(1), 48(a) and 73(1) of the East African Court of Justice Rules of Procedure 2013 (‘the Rules’).

The Applicants are natural persons, citizens and residents of the United Republic of Tanzania. They are also leaders or members of political parties registered in the United Republic of Tanzania. The Respondent is the Attorney General of the United Republic of Tanzania who is sued in his capacity as the Principal Legal Advisor of the United Republic of Tanzania.
