The Applicant, Attorney General of the Republic of Rwanda seeks for orders that, hearing of Reference No. 36 of 2020 be heard and determined by a full bench considering the matter is of immense importance which will attract public attention, it involves many complex laws, legislations, practices and principles and the Applicant will suffer irreparable prejudice if these orders are not granted.
In Reference No. 36 of 2020 Paul Rusesabagira v. The Attorney General of the Republic of Rwanda the Applicant alleges that, the Respondent acts of kidnap, extraordinary rendition from the United Arab Emirates to Rwanda, arbitrary detention of the Applicant, and unfair trial breached the Applicant’s fundamental rights under Articles 6(d) and 7(2) of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community.
