Reference No. 7 of 2020 Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU) vs The Attorney General of the Republic of Burundi

The Applicant alleges that the respondent has violated the property rights of the succession of Sebatutsi Evariste, including but not limited to its heirs or assigns and in so doing violated the commitments that it has made under Articles 6(d) and 7(2) of the EAC Treaty; Article 15(1) of the EAC Common Market Protocol; and Article 14 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. That the Respondent has acted in contempt of the Honourable Court’s Orders in EACJ Application No. 3 of 2019 and in violation of the solemn commitment under Article 8(1)(c) of the EAC Treaty.
