Coming up for hearing: on 22nd  February 2022.

Appeal filed: on 2nd October 2020.

Rules: 84 & 114 of the East African Court of Justice Rules of Procedure, 2019.

Subject matter: Instruction fees awarded to the Appellants are allegedly low.

The Appellants appealed against taxed bill of cost in Taxation Reference No. 1 of 2020 Ismail Dabule & 1004 Others v The Attorney General of the Republic of Uganda for allegedly being too low considering the number of Applicants involved, the subject matter and cost incurred in pursuing the case.

The Appellants alleges that, the taxing officer erred in law when he taxed and allowed instruction fees of USD 19,602.00 instead of a claim of USD 1,518,317.00. That, the amount disallowed in the Applicants bill of cost was in error and disregard of the law. Further faults the taxing officer for allegedly erred in law in interpreting the laws relating to taxation and availing of receipts. The Appellant therefore submits that, in the interest of justice this appeal be allowed and costs increased accordingly.
