REFERENCE NO. 17 OF 2022 ORGANIZATION FOR PROMOTING HUMAN RIGHTS (OPH) & ANOTHER v. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA

The Applicant challenges the amendments made to the written laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) No.1 of 2022 by the Respondent that section 23, 24, 25, 26, 53 and 54 tend to contain unjustified and unrestrained powers to the Director of Public Prosecution, unfair trial provisions, discriminative and contain unreasonable provisions hence violating the Rule of law, gender equality and good governance enshrined under Article 6(d), 7(2) and 8(1) of the Treaty for the Establishment of East African Community.
