The EACJ Resource Centre focuses principally on information materials relevant to the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community. The Collection constitutes various disciplines of law among them :

  • Law reports (such as the East African Court of Justice Law Reports, African Court Law Report, All England Law Reports, Law Reports of the Commonwealth, East Africa Law Reports, Law reports from the Partner States;
  • EAC Laws and Laws from the EAC Partner States;
  • Legal text books in various disciplines of law (such as regional integration, public international law, international relations, the philosophy of law, arbitration, human rights among others);
  • Legal text books in various disciplines of law (such as regional integration, public international law, international relations, the philosophy of law, arbitration, human rights among others);
  • Reference books such as directories, bibliographies, dictionaries, atlases and yearbooks, mainly used for quick reference;
  • Periodicals, including professional journals;
  • Subscribed electronic resources ;
  • Internally developed online databases; and
  • Publications from the EAC Partner States.

The Resource Centre collection is managed by a web-based library management system called Adlib which hosts information resources from three Organs of the Community namely the Secretariat, East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) and East African Court of Justice (EACJ).
Other online resources include:

  • EAC REPORTS DATABASE. This database contains full text database of reports generated by EAC since 1993 to date. The reports include Summit, Council, Sectoral, Task force and other reports. One can search and retrieve Summit and Council directives and decisions for information and follow-up via http://reports.eac.int/ (registration required).
  • EAC INFORMATION REPOSITORY. This is a one-stop-shop platform of digital information and knowledge generated by EAC Organs and Institutions in execution of their various mandates since 1996. The Institutional Repository was established in order to provide visibility, accessibility and effective dissemination of EAC information and knowledge to all stakeholders, policy makers, researchers, students and the general public as well as preserve the EAC institutional memory for future generations and prosperity.
