REFERENCE NO. 47 OF 2022 LEGAL BRAINS TRUST (LBT) LTD VS THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA

The Applicant alleges that, The decision of the Parliament of Uganda on 21 July 2022 purportedly to approval the proposal of the Respondent Government to acquire 150,000 (one hundred Fifty Shillings) preference shares approximately at UGX 207, 130, 000,000 (Uganda Shillings Two Hundred Seven Billion One Hundred Thirty Million Only) in Roko Construction Limited as a means of providing financial support to the company so that it has the liquidity to meet its operational needs and obligations was unlawful and an infringement on the principles of good governance enshrined in Articles 6(d) and 7(2) of the Treaty for Establishment of the East African Community.
