REFERENCE NO. 59 OF 2022 LAWRENCE NGORIA & ANOTHER V. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA

The Applicants allege that the actions of Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan The President of the Respondent State through the Government Notice No. 64 of 2022 published on 14th October 2022 which alienates 1502 km2 of land from both the districts of Ngorongoro and Serengeti as Pololeti Game Reserve was illegal, unprocedural and done without consultations. They further aver that the said actions violate the principles of democracy, rule of law and good governance as such infringe on Articles 6(d),7(2) and 8(1) of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community.
