Congratulations to the newly appointed Judges of the East African Court of Justice, that is Hon. Justice Dr. Gacuko Leonard of the First Instance Division, from the Republic of Burundi and Hon. Justice Cheborion Barishaki of the Appellate Division, from the Republic of Uganda. Justice Dr. Gacuko replaces Justice Audace Ngiye whose 7 years tenure ended in June 2022 while Justice Cheborion will replace Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire whose 7 years tenure ends in August 2022.

The 22nd Ordinary Summit of the EAC Heads of State also designated Hon. Justice Dr. Charles Nyawello as Deputy Principal Judge and Hon. Lady Justice Sauda Mjasiri as Vice President of the Court.

Court resumes August 2022 session and to handle a total of 20 cases. The matters will be brought before Honorable Justices Nestor Kayobera President, Geoffrey Kiryabwire Vice President, Lady Justices Sauda Mjasiri, Anita Mugeni and Justice Kathurima M'Inoti of Appellate Division.
